Quick analysis of search results

Updated October 11, 2026

On this page

A search answers “what is out there”. Reading two hundred result cards to work out which of them matter is the slow part. The quick analysis does that first pass for you: one click, and every similar mark gets a verdict, the goods and services overlap and a one-line reason, with the list re-sorted so the conflicts come first.

It spends no credits. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of runs — see below.

Starting it

Analyze sits in the results header next to Full assessment; each button has a ”?” with a one-line explanation. Analyze opens a small dialog:

  • Your goods and services (optional) — one or two sentences. With it, the goods and services overlap is judged against what you actually sell; without it, only against the Nice classes you searched. If you came from the assessment wizard, the field is prefilled.
  • Logo (optional) — PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB. With a logo, the comparison also looks at each analysed mark’s image.
  • How many runs you have left this month.

The run takes a minute or two and the results area shows its progress. Leave the page open or come back later — the result is kept for 24 hours and re-attaches whenever you open the same search.

How it works

  1. Pre-screen. Every result is screened by name. Marks with no meaningful similarity to yours are marked Dismiss straight away and go no further.
  2. Goods and services. The closest names — up to 60 per run — have their registered goods and services fetched from the register record.
  3. Verdict. Each of them is compared with your mark and your goods: name similarity, goods overlap, and whether the earlier mark is still live.

If more than 60 names survive the pre-screen, the summary says so — a crowded field — and only the 60 closest were analysed in depth. The rest keep no verdict; narrow the search by class or country and run it again if you need them covered.

The verdicts

VerdictMeaning
ConflictLikely to block registration — an identical or near-identical mark for identical or related goods
ReviewSome similarity or overlap, worth a closer look — a strong name match whose goods differ, or an unclear overlap
DismissUnlikely to matter — different enough, unrelated goods, or no longer live

Next to the verdict sits the goods and services overlap — Identical, Related or Unrelated — and a Why? link with the one-line reason. Marks dismissed at the pre-screen say so under Why?.

What changes on the page

  • A summary row above the results: how many conflicts, how many to review, how many dismissed. Each count is a filter — click it to see only those marks, click again to clear.
  • Full assessment in the header becomes the highlighted next step and Analyze steps aside; a fresh search brings it back.
  • The list switches to Verdict order — conflicts first. You can switch back at any time.
  • A Verdict filter joins the filter bar, so “show me only the conflicts” is one click.
  • Every analysed card carries its verdict badge in place of the relevance percentage, which is the cruder signal you get before an analysis. Why similar? stays, because it answers a different question — how the mark was matched, not whether it matters.

Full assessment carries your mark and your goods description into the assessment wizard, so the natural next step is one click away.

Saved searches

Save the search after the analysis has finished and the verdicts are stored with it; the saved search page then has the same Verdict filter. A search saved before the analysis keeps no verdicts — the saved copy is a snapshot.

What it is not

The quick analysis is a triage of relative grounds — earlier marks — from register data. It does not look at absolute grounds (is your mark distinctive, descriptive, deceptive, prohibited?), does not apply a jurisdiction’s examination practice, and gives no Registration Outlook or recommendations. That is what an assessment does, and why it costs a credit.

Treat a verdict as a reading aid, not an opinion. Review means exactly that.

Your monthly allowance

The allowance resets on the 1st of each month at 00:00 UTC. Every run counts, including a re-run with a better goods description or a logo; a run that fails for a technical reason is not counted. The remaining count is shown in the dialog and on your billing page. When it runs out, the dialog shows the reset date and the plan that would give you more; the pricing page is authoritative for current numbers.

With an AI assistant

A connected assistant can start a quick analysis on a result set it has searched, wait for it to finish and then page the results sorted or filtered by verdict. See What your AI assistant can and cannot do.
